And to meet these needs, cosmetic firms offer permanent lipsticks, which promise to last up to 16 hours. We have tested five lipsticks that are sold under the long-lasting label. We tell you our experience.

In the search for the perfect lipstick there are several variables to take into account, but many women agree on one: its duration. Although many of us choose to carry our lipstick in our bag to touch up, we like the color to be maintained throughout the day and, furthermore, we hate leaving traces of our lips on cups, glasses, faces... Cosmetic firms they offer long-lasting lipsticks that promise hours and hours of color intact on the lips. But do these lipsticks hold up to kisses, food and drink? Let's check it out.

Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain

It is one of the best selling lipsticks from Sephora. Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain offers a matte finish with intense color and extreme hold, which promises to stay intact for hours. My experience is very positive, I used shade 18 (Flame Red) to go out to dinner and after 7 hours it had barely faded. It is true that I reviewed it once, because with the hours I did notice that my lips were slightly dry.

I liked its velvety finish, also that it hardly transfers (it leaves a little mark on the glasses and on the face). It has an applicator that deposits the dose with precision and that allows you to review and intensify the color (although it is not necessary because the color is very intense, at least in tone 18).

What I liked least is its smell. I do not find it pleasant at all, although it is something that you only notice when you apply it.

Its price is 12.95 euros and it has about 100 different tones, so it is impossible for you not to find one that you like.

Maybelline NY SuperStay Matte Ink

Maybelline NY offers SuperStay Ink as a permanent lipstick, a liquid ink that sticks to the lips almost like a tattoo. It has an arrow-shaped applicator, very practical. Its finish is intense matte and according to Maybelline it has an elastic ink technology with 0% clay, a formula with a high concentration of tinted pigments. The firm tells us that it is one of the best-sellers and it does not surprise us, because if you are looking for a long-lasting lipstick that can withstand food, drinks and kisses, Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink is an excellent option.

I applied it at 8 in the morning, and after more than 12 hours, eating, drinking, kissing and even brushing my teeth, it was still on my lips. Without any retouching, by the end of the day the color had faded just a bit. Once it dries, it doesn't transfer at all, and with such a strong red (I used Pioneer shade 20) it looks really amazing. But that's right, no fingerprints on glasses or food.

The only drawbacks are that it got a little dry for me as the hours passed (it is true that I often have dry lips), and that until it dries, the texture is not very sticky.

Lola Make up Love Collection Matte Liquid Lipstick

Lola Make up is a professional makeup firm that also offers permanent lipsticks. I have tried a liquid lipstick from the Love collection. The firm describes it as a lipstick with a matte finish, intense coverage, high hydration and long duration. My experience has been good: its application is easy thanks to the brush, the finish is matte, but it leaves a velvety texture. It is true that as the hours passed it dried me out somewhat, but not as much as other permanent lipsticks. It probably has something to do with the fact that there is jojoba oil and shea butter in its formula. Another advantage of this lipstick is that it is cruelty free.

Transfer a little, even if it is dry. After drinking water, the color is the same, but there is a slight imprint on the glass. I used it since morning, and after eating, my lips lost some color. I reapplied, and it held up pretty well for about five hours, in which I didn't eat. In short, it is a lipstick that lasts a long time as long as you do not eat.

Its price is 9.95 euros and it offers four shades in the red range. I tried the 4 Lust, a very nice dark red.

Revlon ColorStay Overtime Long Lasting Lipcolor

Another one of the permanent lipsticks that I have tried is Revlon's ColorStay Overtime Lipcolor. According to the firm, it resists intact up to 16 hours. The first difference with respect to the other lipsticks that I have tried is that it has two steps: the colored liquid lipstick and a transparent gloss that you must apply once the lipstick is dry.

Another difference is that it is not a highly pigmented lipstick, on the contrary, it is a softer lipstick. I recommend it especially for women who prefer to wear natural colors and a gloss finish.

Among its advantages, I highlight, mainly, how comfortable it was for me, it hardly dried out my lips. According to Revlon, it is made with silk proteins and Softflex technology to provide maximum comfort. It also withstood the transfer test very well, leaving no traces. Its duration is also excellent, the color faded only slightly after 7 hours, in which I drank coffee and ate. With a touch up after lunch, the lipstick stayed intact from 7am to 7pm and I had a hard time removing it.

Its price is 10.95 euros and it is available in 8 shades.

Velvet Lipstick by Ten Image

Finally, I chose the Velvet lipstick from Ten Image, a professional makeup company, for my test. According to the brand, it is a liquid lipstick with a matte finish, great intensity of color and long duration. I like its pointed applicator, which allows you to define the contours. It offers great coverage, with a single stroke an intense color is achieved (at least with the 08 Balinese, a dusty pink).

It dries quickly and doesn't stain, I didn't find any traces on the glasses or on the fork... Although there are natural and synthetic oils and waxes in its formula, it dried me out a bit as the hours passed. I applied it at 8 in the morning and it held up very well, but after eating and drinking coffee, I had to reapply it again, because it had faded quite a bit.

Its price is 17 euros and it is available in 10 shades (the one in the image is 010 Masai).

Keep in mind that when removing any of these lipsticks you will have to use specific make-up removers for lips or to remove waterproof make-up.
