Face masks are now a trend within the many facial care options and although we can find them of different kinds, in order to be able to carry out all kinds of treatments on our skin, one of the most complete is activated carbon, which is characterized by being completely black. Let's see below, step by step, how we can make an activated carbon mask at home.
How to make a homemade activated charcoal face mask
Activated carbon masks are effective in being able to exfoliate the skin in depth, and eliminate problems such as pimples or acne, but as you already know, they are a type of mask that sticks a lot to the face and usually hurts a lot when we remove them.
As there were many people who tried these masks a while ago and complained about how much they hurt, it became fashionable recently to make them at home from charcoal powder by mixing a little white glue, but this one also sticks quite well So how can we enjoy the properties of this mask but without it hurting?
The solution may be to make an activated carbon mask but without any glue, and without gelatin (another version that may be less painful but is still annoying when removing it). So let's see how to do it step by step.
Ingredients
To make the homemade charcoal black mask you will need the following ingredients:
-2 teaspoons of vegetable or powdered activated charcoal; -2 teaspoons of bentonite clay; -4 teaspoons of water; -Approximately 1 teaspoon of raw honey (optional).
As for charcoal, you can find it in powder, tablets or capsules. If you take the compact formats, you can cut the tablets or open the capsules and empty them, to get the amount you need to make the black mask.
Steps
The only thing you have to do to prepare this homemade mask is to mix the clay with the water. After stirring for a few minutes, when everything is well mixed, we have to add the charcoal and, if you wish, the honey and mix everything again until it is well integrated and there are no lumps.
How to apply homemade black mask?
Once you have prepared your homemade mask, you have to apply it to your face after having thoroughly cleaned it, and if possible after having placed yourself on a little steam to open the pores. Apply the mask with a soft brush or your fingers, but be careful not to spread it near the eyes and mouth.
Leave the mask on for about a quarter of an hour and gently remove it with water.
Once you have removed all the remains of your homemade mask, you will notice cleaner and brighter skin, but it will be good to apply your usual moisturizer.
Before applying the mask, it will be good to follow the general precautions for this type of product, that is, do a test on a part of the arm and remove everything if you feel irritation and discomfort.
