The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games began on July 21, and the eyes of the whole world are on all the athletes competing on Japanese soil. The Mexican delegation is made up of world-class athletes, so the hope of new gold medals is always alive and here we bring you a count of all the Mexicans who have won gold medals in the Olympic Games.

Mexico's history with the Olympic Games is not short. The first participation of a Mexican team in the joust happened in 1900, with the polo team, which won the bronze medal, and since 1924 our country has not lost a single Olympic competition.
Despite this, the first gold medal for Mexico came until London 1948, from the team of riders that represented the country.

The first gold medal for Mexico was achieved at the London 1948 Olympic Games, where the team of riders, made up of Humberto Mariles, Rubén Uriza and Alberto Valdés, won the medal in the team jumping equestrian competition .
All the riders who represented Mexico had been trained at the Military College of Mexico. To the medal achieved in the team competition was added the gold medal obtained by Humberto Mariles in the individual vault competition. In this competition Rubén Uriza obtained the silver medal.
