Pregnancy is one of the most wonderful times I have lived, but also the most complicated at the level of the state of the skin. During that time, it generally goes through several phases thanks to the revolution of hormones that we experience -which causes the skin to alter a lot-, although it is usually temporary and everything returns to normal (at least until postpartum).
Undoubtedly, the skin of the face is the one that "suffers" the most from all this hormonal adjustment. Usually you notice more fat at the beginning, it can have moments of dryness, and you can even get everything together at once. That is why you must arm yourself with patience and take all the precautions so that it looks healthy and beautiful despite the imbalances that you may notice.
In this time of so many changes, it is essential to "listen" to your skin, and change your routine whenever you need it. If you notice more oiliness, switch to gel textures and reduce the amount of products you apply to avoid an acne breakout. If, on the other hand, you feel drier, choose rich moisturizers and include a daily facial oil.
There is an abysmal change in the skin (and not only when you are pregnant), when incorporating double facial cleansing into your routine. It basically consists of cleaning the skin in two steps: one, with an oil that "sweeps away" the make-up and pollution that adheres to the skin during the day, and the second with a rinse-off gel, which removes the remains of oil and dirt. I assure you that the results are fantastic.

The chances of suffering from chloasma in pregnancy are multiplied and in this case the best weapon is prevention. Never go out without sunscreen, and even apply it if you are going to be at home because the blue light emitted by screens can also cause it. Once again, choose one that is appropriate for your skin type (there are very light ones these days that are very effective and barely noticeable).
You may notice that your skin is very altered or sensitized at specific times, so I recommend you always have a soothing cream on hand without perfume (I buy it at the pharmacy), which you can use whenever you need it.
Exfoliating is essential at this time, although you should choose one that is smooth in both texture and formula. Get used to doing it at least once a week, subsequently applying a mask and letting it act for about twenty minutes.
It is true that during pregnancy, and especially during the first months, it is very difficult to follow what the "manuals" say about how you should feed yourself. I myself was surviving the first few months at the expense of French omelette, bread, water and oranges because my stomach would not admit anything else, but as far as possible, avoid ultra-processed and very fatty foods, because you will notice it immediately in your fur.
Undoubtedly the biggest concern we have regarding the skin of the body is the appearance of stretch marks, although this is a kind of "genetic lottery", which may or may not win you. Once again, the only thing we have in our hands is prevention, so you must focus on hydrating, hydrating and re-hydrating. There is no other secret.
This is the best way to provide nutrients to the skin and prevent dryness from the moment you shower. Gels are very sensory, they also foam (not as much as gels, but they do), and the skin is very soft even without applying cream. A must.
In case I hadn't made it clear, you have to apply a lot of cream throughout your pregnancy, so I recommend that you buy the XXL size of the anti-stretch marks that you like the most and don't skimp on its application. Keep in mind that the end of pregnancy is the most critical time because the skin is so stretched that it can break at the slightest, so the best thing you can do is live with the bottle in hand and apply it whenever you notice itching.
Although we focus on hydration, it is advisable to use a gentle exfoliant (here I mean that the granule should not be very large because it can damage the skin), to remove dead skin cells and not reduce the effectiveness of other products. that we apply later.
