Cold sores are one of the most annoying things in the world, but luckily we live in an age where they are easy to control. These lesions are small blisters that appear for various reasons, for example, if you had a drop in defenses, sun exposure (even sudden changes in weather) and stress.
Unfortunately, being a type of herpes, once it hits you, it is no longer eliminated, but remains 'asleep' in your system. With some care, you can prevent them from appearing for a long time, but the 'normal' thing is that they appear a few times a year, but with the correct methods, they shouldn't last more than five days. We tell you how to speed up its disappearance!
Cold sores commonly come out because you had a drop in defenses. The first thing you should do is strengthen your body, and nothing better than taking some multivitamin pills, eating fruits and vegetables, and at least for now, not eating irritants or foods that make you feel bad.
Your body will do the work by itself to heal the injuries that appear, but for everything to be more bearable and fast, you must take care of it and give it all the necessary tools. In addition to the correct vitamins and food, try to drink a lot of water, which is also necessary if you want the wound to heal well.
Another preventive tip is to apply homemade scrubs for chapped lips, every two weeks (once you no longer have sores).
Lysine is a crucial amino acid in the life of human beings, and it can be your best ally to fight a cold sore, since it strengthens our immune system, that is, the system in charge of fighting infections such as bacteria and viruses (ie, herpes).
This amino acid is found in foods such as soybeans, turkey meat, fish, and egg yolks. However, you can find it as a nutritional supplement in pharmacies and specialized stores. If you have cold sores, increase your lysine doses to make your immune system do its job faster.
The active ingredient acyclovir is also perfect for speeding up the healing of a cold sore; when you get one, you have to wait for it to "dry" and with this ingredient you can speed up that process. Currently there are some that contain very small doses of anesthesia so that you don't get so itchy either, and there are others in skin color so that you can put them on and you won't have cream residue.
Cold sores usually heal quickly, however, if you notice that the sore has not diminished (or even increased) in five days, it is best to consult to an expert, since it may be an indication of another condition.
