Right now Marina Salas is going at an unstoppable pace. She is on tour around the country with the classic play 'La casa de Bernarda Alba' and has just presented 'El Cover' at the Malaga Festival, a comedy-musical by Secun de la Rosa in which she has the leading role and that we do not plan to miss.

We talked to her about her latest projects, her vocation for dramatic art and about fashion and beauty, because yes, she is presumptuous and admits it. And we even discovered how to turn a day makeup into a night one with her and Dior Makeup.

What do you like most about your profession?

Work as a team, imagine the possibilities and creation with colleagues. The work on the set and getting on stage.

How would you define yourself as an actress?

As an actress who really likes acting and her work.

What is the most exciting thing you have experienced as an actress?

Many things! It is so intimately linked to my personal life… It is very difficult to choose a single event.

When did you discover your passion for dramatic art?

Since I was little I wanted to act. I always climbed on the tables of the bars or restaurants that we went to with my parents and acted the clown for the rest of the clients.

You were part of the cast of 'Three meters above the sky', which marked an entire generation. Almost 11 years have passed since its premiere, how have you evolved from then until today? Would you say you are the same person?

Not at all. I feel that I have changed a lot but at the same time my essence is the same.

Now you star in the musical comedy 'El Cover', what can you tell us about this film?

It is a film with a lot of soul, a very interesting musical journey and some characters with whom the public empathizes very well. It makes you move your body and dance and you leave wanting to fall in love. It is also a defense of the artists and a portrait of Benidorm and reflects on art and success and failure.

How has it been working with Secun de la Rosa as a director?

Second is wonderful. He is an actor and it shows because he always prioritizes directing actors over technique. I think he will direct very good projects because he has a very powerful universe as an artist.

You have given the starting signal at the Malaga Festival, what expectations do you have of the reception of the feature film?

You never know what will happen to a movie, it's a mystery. I hope people enjoy it because it is a movie where you have a great time and that is very necessary at this time.

In 'El Cover' you give life to Sandra, what inspires you this character?

Sandra is optimism, strength, light, passion... She has been looking for chestnuts alone for a long time and she is a survivor. She always has her eyes forward. There is no complaint. And she is very lonely and has many difficulties, but still she pushes forward. She has spent years looking for a living doing versions and singing in bars.

How did you prepare for this role?

I took singing lessons, talked a lot with Secun, and watched a lot of reference movies that he gave me to work on the character.

The coronavirus pandemic caught you in the middle of filming in Benidorm, how did this break in life affect you? Have you taken any learning?

I remember it perfectly, it was very strong the day everything happened. We were in the process of putting on makeup and getting ready to shoot and the whole team got very scared because we were far from home and we didn't know what was happening. Filming was stopped and luckily we were all able to get home safely.

You also play Adela in the play 'La casa de Bernarda Alba' by García Lorca, which is currently on tour around the country. What do you prefer, theater or cinema?

I can't choose a medium. I would never want to give up any of them. Luxury is being able to combine all three.

Let's talk about fashion, what can't be missing in your summer wardrobe?

Some Levi's 501 and a white T-shirt.

How do you define yourself when it comes to dressing?

Easy. Good garments and some iconic but without recharging.

At a beauty level, what products would you say are essential in your dressing table?

Mascara and Rouge Blush by Dior.

Do you consider yourself presumptuous?

Yes, when I was little a lot, now not so much!

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic and the mandatory use of masks, the look has become more important than ever in makeup, but are you more of lipstick or eyeshadow?

I have always liked more to reinforce the look but it depends on what you feel more comfortable with. The fun is to combine, change and try.

What type of makeup do you feel most comfortable with?

Actresses and actors have an intimate relationship with makeup due to our work. When I feel most comfortable is when the makeup merges with the proposal that I have chosen.

What beauty look would you choose for a red carpet? And for the day to day?

It depends on the occasion of the rug and what you have to do on a daily basis. I also like to let myself be advised by the artists around me.

How to convert a day makeup to a night one

Speaking of day and night makeup, one of the trends that 2021 has left us with is naturalness, as it becomes a versatile proposal suitable for any occasion. From Dior Makeup they show us how to convert a makeup from morning to night, by the hand of Marina Salas.

For the day look, make-up artist María García has prepared Marina's skin with the Capture Totale range and has performed a brief eye contour massage with a serum to decongest the area. She achieves the good face effect immediately by using bronzing powders slightly darker than the natural tone of the skin and applying them to both the cheeks and the bridge of the nose, as explained by the firm.

Applying them is very simple. Start with a wide makeup brush and work your way across your forehead. She then applies it to her eyelids and the bridge of her nose. For the lashes, the makeup artist uses the first Diorshow Maximizer to lengthen and separate them, and she finishes with several coats of mascara on the top row of lashes to open up the eyes. Regarding the eyebrows, Marina has them populated so they have only been lightly reviewed with a pencil and brushed. , and have been brushed with the pencil's built-in brush for a flawless result.

On her lips, Marina wears Rouge Dior lipstick in shade 219 Satin, a slightly pinkish nude perfect for a morning event.

How to take advantage of this makeup and turn it into a night one? Easy peasy! You just have to use another lip color. The make-up artist's bet is the mythical red, the Rouge Dior 999 in her new Velvet version. While for the look, she opted for a chocolate shade that she applied in a color block, from the tear duct to the outer corner of the eye, blending towards the eye socket and towards the outer corner.

Afterwards, she applies the same shadow to the level of the lower lashes with the help of a very fine brush; and she finishes with an additional coat of mascara and brushes her brows again.
