Actress and makeup artist tricks to transform a tired face

Speaking of colors, Natalia Verbeke tells us that she is not at all superstitious "neither with colors nor with salt..." while she puts on a yellow sweater by our stylist Julia Martínez. Tell us about your next series Everybody Lies that everyone is talking about with an exceptional cast

It is a long-awaited series that we will premiere now at the end of January on Movistar+ and it is a very playful thriller that people are going to really enjoy with very powerful characters and a luxury cast.

Any anecdote you remember from the shoot?

I have a hard time remembering the anecdotes but I can tell you that it was very nice because we were coming out of the pandemic and it was a strange shoot but we had a great time. And there was also a very strong union in the team, perhaps because of the place and the time we came from.

Of which characters that you have played are there more of you or vice versa?

I think that of all, in all my characters there is a lot of me even though they have nothing to do with it because, after all, the material I work with is my emotions and experiences and in all of them, in some way, it must be reflected Natalie. I don't know exactly which one could be the most like me. In fact, I feel like the further away the character is from me, the easier it is for me to play him. If he looked much like me, it would be extreme nudity.

Which directors would you like to work with?

With many. I want to work with women like Isabel Coixet, for example, to have that feminine look. I just worked with Gracia Querejeta and I would do it again, and then there are so many directors like Juan Antonio Bayona that I also love.

What projects do you have for this year?

Premiere the series Everyone Lies, a playful thriller with very powerful characters and start with a play, then a shoot for television and on a personal level, I hope that everything goes well with my health and I continue working on myself to continue growing and evolving.

Do you think that age runs against actresses?

I think so. Age affects actresses a lot because there are not as many important female roles as there can be male ones from the age of 35. In theater, these roles exist and they are very interesting, but it would be wonderful if they could be in the cinema or on television as well and there has to be a change because the largest spectator is female and one of those who consumes the most cinema. But definitely, age is one thing that runs against it, so I think it's important to know how to carry it and in my case it's important to adapt to what's there and if things are like that, we'll have to get ahead.

How do you take care of yourself physically but also mentally?

I practice meditation every morning and I really like to read and I go through pages, which I have never liked to do, but now with my daughter I have a harder time finding time to read everything I want and I go little by little. Before I couldn't stop if I didn't finish reading a book and now circumstances mean I have less time and depending on the day, I decide to read one book or another. And on the other hand, and on a physical level, I practice a lot of sports and take great care of my diet as well. What does not mean that I eat my pizza or my hamburger and chocolate falls every day, I can't help it but it is true that hamburgers and pizzas happen once in a while.

What exercises do you practice?

I do interval training, high intensity training or HIIT.

Would you like to take more time to...

Do nothing. It's the best thing someone can do for the head and for everything. But you have to find that time and you also have to dare to do it. Because we lead such a heavy rhythm of life that it seems if you do nothing you waste time and forget about yourself and cultivating yourself.

Are you worried about turning years or is it something liberating to turn them?

I like birthdays and also, I find that it is something liberating. There are days that I say with projects that arrive "there is how I would like this not to drop but if it falls, nothing happens". I want to say that I feel very lucky to have the mental youth that I have, to have a life that I like, to have a family and in the end, the physical, it is still that, a physical thing and it is much more important what have inside There are days when I look better or worse and days when I say, I've put on weight, well, with age you realize that there are things that are not so important. And with my daughter, I have realized that the focus is not on me, therefore, I do not focus so much on myself, really.

And if you weren't an actress, what would you be?

Well, I would have liked to be a perfumer. I love fragrances because when I get up, I put on one perfume or another depending on my mood. Then I work on the characters and I work on their scent so that each one has their own aroma and I know from the moment I put on their perfume that they are already with me. Smells are of vital importance in my life and I associate all emotions with aromas and moments of my life, so yes, I would have liked to develop that profession, maybe if I reincarnated!

Are you unfaithful to fragrances?

Yes... Look now I'm wearing Soleil Blanc by Tom Ford which is wonderful and I think it's my favorite perfume in the aroma world itself.
