By Lauren Valenti

In recent years there has been a seismic change towards a more natural contouring. To verify it, just look at the King of Contour, makeup artist Mario Devivanovic. It may have been the pioneer of the transformative sculpture technique that Kardashians catapulted the top of the techniques due during the 2010 decade, but their approach 2.0 most recent is clearly lighter. In a sentence? Softer.

"The trend of the contour began to change when people began to realize that social networks makeup is not the same as everyday makeup," explains Devivanovic, who just launched their new Soft Sculpt contour collectionLight and buildable, coloring and essential elements to illuminate."Today, now that everyone knows how to contour, and has become part of their daily beauty routine, people are realizing that a sculpted appearance can be achieved with much less makeup".

Los Angeles Mai Quynh makeup artists believe that people have not only perfected their sculpting skills, but has inspired themselves in a growing obsession with skin care."People appreciate their own skin and take care of it better not to have to depend only on makeup," says Quynh, and underlines the beauty of building on a damp and healthy shine."We want to seem more natural and less intimidating," adds devivanovic."We are seeing this softer approach to social networks by the youngest generation and is very refreshing.I'm lovin 'it".

In the midst of this change, and now that summer begins, professionals give us their advice to get a natural makeup and let the skin shine, from a soft application to a perfect finish.

Cheeks with a soft approach

Soft sculpting: qué es y cómo conseguir el nuevo método de contouring

Although many believe that contouring means applying makeup directly in the hollows of the cheeks, Dedivanovic warns that this can create a heavy and unnatural -looking effect.Instead, apply the contour or the bronzer slightly above the hollows of the cheeks."Blur up to subtly lift the skin and add some warmth," explains Devivanovic."This will create a natural sculpted".The other professional rule: begins by applying some product and sees the amount increasing as necessary, especially during the day."To get a softer and more natural look, you have to be aware of how makeup in daylight will see," says Devivanovic."Sculpt the jaw or nose may seem hard when it is outdoors".Makeup artist Naoko Scintu thinks the same in her approach, prioritizing what will be more flattering in the real world."It is important that people aspire to look good with natural light and not only through a controlled lighting configuration," says Scintu.

Shadowed

Although the comfort of a contour pencil cannot be overcome, both Scintu and Quynh appreciate the second skin finish that provides a medium -tone makeup base or a darker tone than the natural tone of the skin when applied with aBrush or a Beautyblender."I love sculpting the forehead, cheekbones, nose and jaw with a darker tone of Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation," explains Quynh."It seems to me that using a darker base color mimics real skin and seems more natural".

Add a touch of color

"The blush helps the skin seem healthier and more natural," explains Devivanovic, who always likes to include the blush in the full makeup equation. To apply the blush, it suggests starting by smiling slightly and applying the blush on the apples of the cheeks."To get a higher appearance, do not apply it too down on the cheeks," he says, and adds that he loves to apply a light layer in the nose, forehead and chin to achieve a more modern effect. As for color and texture, to get a "fresh and bright face", Scintu opts for liquid or cream formulas."This mimics the natural appearance of the skin, so apply it slightly and only in the T zone so that the skin has a humid appearance," he explains.

Get an illuminated shine from within

For deduivanovic, the illuminator must never seem too obvious, with texture or heavy."The intention of the illuminator is to give the skin a natural brightness and illuminate it, instead of noticing a strip along the cheekbones," he explains."I always make my clients smile when I apply the illuminator to be sure that I am not applying the illuminator on the fine lines or wrinkles around the eyes".Another infallible strategy is to opt for a creamy or liquid texture illuminator."I think the liquid illuminators are the most natural because they melt with the skin," says Quynh."Powdered illuminators tend to settle on the skin and seem too bright, especially in photos. They can make you look bright or fatty instead of brilliant and with dew ".To add the fair amount of "brightness", use the Nude A-Highlight of Armani Beauty and applies it in the eyebrow bone, the interior of the eye, above the cheekbone, the bridge of the nose and above the lips.

Know your face

"Sculpt and highlight the complexion is not really a unique size and there is a moment and a place for it," says Devivanovic."Find what favors your face and, most importantly, knows the difference between social networks makeup and real life.".
