Syria describes as wrong and hostile US approach

The clashes and bombings that occurred after the assault of terrorists of the Islamic State (EI) to the Al-Sinaa prison in the city of Hasakeh, respond to an attempt by Washington to recycle this radical group and justify the permanence of their forces in Syria,The diplomat said in his speech before the Security Council of the United Nations Organization (UN).

These actions caused the destruction of housing and civil and services facilities, including the headquarters of the Sadcop fuel company, the Al-Bassel bakery, the headquarters of the Rector's Rectorate of the University of the Euphrates, the building of the Polytechnic Institute and other buildings, he said.

On the other hand, he denounced the serious violations of the principles of international law and the UN Letter by the successive US administrations and their allies.

They overlooked the Security Council and resorted to a distorted interpretation of article 51 of the Charter by forming an illegitimate coalition under the pretext of fighting terrorism in Syria without consent or coordination with Damascus, he said.

The permanent representative before the international agency also added that some of the member countries of that alliance recruited thousands of foreign terrorists, facilitated their arrival in Syria and gave them support to destabilize this country and sow terror and chaos.

These same states prevented the Council from responding to the repeated demands of Syria to form a legitimate international coalition under the UN umbrella to combat terrorism and support efforts to face this threat, he deplored.

He concluded his speech after asserting that the United States, under the pretext of fighting terrorism, attacked schools, health centers, dams, bridges, civil facilities and completely destroyed the city of Raqa, in addition to attacking the Syrian army while facing the IS, as happened in Deir Ezzor in 2016.
