The Jharkhand State Horticulture Promotion Society (JSHPS), under the Directorate of Horticulture, Government of Jharkhand, has released Vacancy Advertisement No. 01/2026 for 637 contractual posts at Headquarters, district and block level. Online applications will open on 4 November 2026 and close on 4 December 2026 at 3:00 PM. Candidates must also send a printed copy of the application to reach Ranchi by 14 December 2026 at 5:00 PM — the online form alone does not complete the application. Read the notification for eligibility, selection process, pay scale and all other information.

Note: the engagement is purely contractual for one year, renewable yearly on good performance. It carries no claim to regularisation.

The fee is non-refundable, and an application without the fee is not accepted. A separate online application and a separate fee are required for each post applied for. The payment mode is not stated in the pages checked; follow the portal at the time of applying.

Headquarters holds 13 seats, districts 96 seats and blocks 528 seats — one Block Program Manager post and one Assistant-cum-Data Entry Operator post in every block. Several Headquarters posts carry only an Unreserved seat. District and block posts also carry horizontal reservation for women, divyang, sports and primitive tribe candidates as per the notification.

The same post name at different levels carries different qualifications, pay and age. Match your level, not just the name. A degree must be full time only where its row says so, and agriculture or horticulture degrees need ICAR-recognised institutions.

The Block Program Manager post is the entry point and the only manager post that asks for no experience in the pages checked. A State Program Manager must have prior district-level experience, and a District Program Manager and Thematic Expert must have prior block-level experience — experience letters are therefore essential documents for those posts.

Age limits are as on 4 December 2026. The pages checked contain no age relaxation clause, so treat these limits as firm unless the full notification says otherwise. Work out your exact age on 4 December 2026, not on the day you apply.

All pay is consolidated and fixed, with no pay level or grade pay, plus a 5% performance-linked increment every year.

  1. Provisional list of eligible candidates and rejected applications published on the website.
  2. Written exam and/or interview — a written exam is held only where applications exceed 15 times the vacancies for a post.
  3. Final list ranked on merit, the sole basis of selection, with a category-wise waiting list of twice the vacancies, valid for one year from its publication.

If marks tie, the older candidate ranks higher, followed by higher written exam marks where an exam was held, and then the name that comes first alphabetically. No TA/DA is paid for the interview. Do not assume a written exam will happen — popular block posts may see one while a Headquarters post may not.

To be notified in the detailed notification. The pages checked state no exam pattern or syllabus. Watch the recruitment portal for exam notices after the application window closes.

  1. Read the official notification carefully before filling the form.
  2. Open the Jharkhand recruitment portal at recruitment.jharkhand.gov.in between 4 November and 4 December 2026, before 3:00 PM.
  3. Fill a separate form for every post you apply for, upload your photo, signature and documents, and pay the fee.
  4. Submit the online application and print it.
  5. Attach self-attested copies of your documents, the fee receipt and the signed checklist.
  6. Write the advertisement number, post name and level (HQ, District or Block) on the envelope.
  7. Send the printed copy by hand or Registered or Speed Post to the Chief Executive Officer, JSHPS, Third Floor, Krishi Bhawan, Ranchi 834008, so that it reaches by 14 December 2026, 5:00 PM.
  8. Keep the postal receipt and a copy of the full application for your records.
