The Railway Recruitment Cell, Central Railway (RRC CR) has released Notification No. RRC/CR/AA/2026 dated 3 November 2026 for the engagement of 2,861 Act Apprentices across its Mumbai, Bhusawal, Pune, Nagpur and Solapur clusters. The online application process started on 3 November 2026 at 11:00 AM and closes on 2 December 2026 at 5:00 PM through the official RRC Central Railway website. Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 9,600 during one year of training. This is apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 — not permanent railway employment — and there is no guarantee of absorption into railway service after training. Read the notification for eligibility, selection process, stipend and all other information.

Applications submitted after 5:00 PM on 2 December 2026 will not be accepted. Candidates should complete the form and fee payment well before the last date to avoid last-minute portal load.

The fee of Rs. 100 for General and OBC candidates is as per the notification summary. Candidates of other categories should check the exact fee in the official notification on rrccr.com before paying. The fee must be paid online before the last date.

The 2,861 training slots are provisional and may increase or decrease depending on Central Railway’s administrative requirements. PwBD and Ex-Servicemen slots are included within the notified totals and must not be added separately. The detailed trade-wise and community-wise allocation for each workshop and unit is given on pages 5 to 15 of the official 32-page notification.

Candidates must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognised board and must hold a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the notified trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT), or a provisional certificate issued by NCVT/SCVT. Only the trades notified in the advertisement are eligible. Engineering graduates and diploma holders are NOT eligible to apply under this notification. Candidates who are currently undergoing apprenticeship training, or have already completed it, should not apply.

Upper-age relaxation applies as per the Apprentices Act and Government of India rules for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates. Candidates must check the exact relaxation in the official notification.

Selected Act Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 9,600 during the one-year training period, as specified under Railway Board RBE No. 116/2025 dated 11 November 2025. This is a training stipend, not a regular railway salary, and apprentices are not entitled to other railway employee allowances or benefits.

  1. Online application: Submit the form on rrccr.com before 2 December 2026, 5:00 PM.
  2. Merit list: Prepared strictly on the basis of marks obtained in Matriculation and in the ITI trade examination. No centralised written examination will be conducted.
  3. Document verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce original certificates for verification.
  4. Medical fitness: Candidates must meet the prescribed medical fitness standards for the trade.
  5. Final engagement: Subject to document verification, medical fitness and approval of the apprenticeship contract.

To be notified in the detailed notification — no written examination is prescribed for this apprenticeship engagement; selection is based on the merit list prepared from Matriculation and ITI marks, followed by document verification and medical fitness.
