The State Bank of India (SBI) has invited online applications for 6 Specialist Cadre Officer posts in Artificial Intelligence and Analytics, as per Advertisement No. CRPD/SCO/2026-27/30. The online application window runs from 19 October 2026 to 16 November 2026 (extended) — the last date was extended from 9 November 2026 by a corrigendum dated 4 November 2026. The minimum qualification is a B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech or a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, with 8 to 15 years of experience depending on the post. The pay is a negotiable annual CTC with an upper range of Rs. 1.60 crore for the top post. Read the notification for eligibility, selection process, pay scale and all other information.

Corrigendum dated 4 November 2026: the last date for online application is now 16 November 2026, not 9 November 2026. The corrigendum also revises the educational qualification of the GM & Chief AI Officer and the three DGM posts (Economics added to the M.Sc. and M.A. options) and the experience of the GM & Chief AI Officer and the DGM (Data Engineering, Model Application Development and AI Ops) posts. All other terms and conditions of the advertisement remain unchanged. The corrigendum speaks only of the last date of online application; since the original advertisement tied registration and fee payment to one window, both should be completed by 16 November 2026.

The fee is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted for any other selection. Transaction charges are paid by the candidate. The fee is paid online by debit card, credit card, internet banking or UPI. No change is allowed after payment.

Every post has just 1 vacancy, all Unreserved. The engagement is on a fixed term of 3 years, which may be renewed for 2 more years (total not more than 5 years). The place of posting is Mumbai or anywhere in India, as the Bank needs. Candidates can apply for one post only — if more than one application is filed, only the last valid one is kept and the other fees are forfeited.

All dates for qualification and experience are counted as on 30 September 2026.

GM & Chief AI Officer and the three DGM posts: B.E. or B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, Electrical & Electronics or Electronics & Communication (or equivalent); or M.Sc. (Statistics, Computer Science or Economics), M.A. (Statistics or Economics), M.Stat. or MCA from a recognised University or Institution. MBA or PGDM in Finance and certifications in ML, AI, NLP, web crawling or neural networks are preferred.

AI Solution Architect: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, AI, Business Administration, Management or a related discipline. Certification in AI solution architecture is preferred.

Enterprise AI Architect: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Data Science, AI or an equivalent discipline. TOGAF certification and enterprise AI architecture certification are an added advantage.

Minimum experience: GM & Chief AI Officer — 15+ years, preferably in Banking, BFSI or Information Technology, with at least 3+ years of senior leadership in AI, analytics, model oversight, governance and business transformation. DGM (Risk & Operational Analytics) — 10+ years in Banking, BFSI or IT, with at least 2+ years in a senior leadership role involving risk analytics, operational analytics, AI/ML model oversight, model governance and business transformation. DGM (AI Governance & Compliance) — 10+ years with at least 2+ years in a senior leadership role involving AI governance, responsible AI, model risk management, regulatory compliance, data privacy, information security or technology risk. DGM (Data Engineering, Model Application Dev & AI Ops) — 10+ years, preferably in Banking, BFSI or IT, with at least 2+ years in a senior leadership role involving data engineering, AI/ML application development, MLOps/AI Ops, enterprise integration and technology transformation. AI Solution Architect — 8 years overall, including at least 3 years in AI or analytics solutioning, digital transformation, technology consulting or solution architecture. Enterprise AI Architect — 8 years overall in technology, including at least 3 years in enterprise, platform, data or AI architecture on large AI/ML systems.

Only full-time experience gained after the basic qualification, as on 30 September 2026, counts. For the four senior posts, work as an individual contributor does not count towards the leadership years, and training and teaching experience is not counted for any post.

The advertisement gives no category-wise age relaxation table. Anyone claiming relaxation must show the proper certificate at document verification.

The pay is a negotiable annual CTC, decided by the candidate’s experience, present emoluments and place of posting. There is no pay scale in the notification. The figures below are the upper range of the CTC.

The CTC is split 90% fixed and 10% variable. The variable part depends on the performance score — 100% of the variable pay at a score of 99–100%, 90% at 97–98.99%, 80% at 94–96.99%, 70% at 90–93.99%, and nil below 90%. The annual increment band is shown as up to 5%, while a footnote says any increment from the second year onwards is up to 10%, depending on performance. This is a contract job, not a permanent post — either side can end the contract by giving 3 months’ notice or paying 3 months’ compensation in its place.

  1. Shortlisting — a committee sets the parameters and shortlists enough candidates for interview. Meeting the minimum eligibility does not give a right to be called.
  2. Interview — 100 marks for every post. For the first four posts it includes a 10-minute presentation on the candidate’s job profile, projects and milestones. Qualifying marks are decided by the Bank.
  3. CTC Negotiation — done one by one, at the time of the interview or separately after it.

The merit list is made from interview scores only, in descending order. If candidates tie at the cut-off, the older candidate is ranked higher. Outstation candidates called for interview get economy class air fare — actual fare for GM and DGM posts, and up to Rs. 15,000 for both sides (or the actual fare, if lower) for the two architect posts. Call letters go by email or the Bank’s website, and no hard copy is sent. Government, quasi-government, PSU, nationalised bank or financial institution employees must bring a No Objection Certificate from their employer to the interview.

There is no written examination. Selection is by shortlisting followed by an interview of 100 marks for every post. The interview for the GM and DGM posts includes a 10-minute presentation. The merit list rests on interview marks alone.
