The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the written result of the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026 on 5 November 2026. A total of 2,526 candidates have qualified for the next stage — the Personality Test (Interview). The result has been published as name-wise and roll number-wise PDF lists on the official website. Candidates who appeared in the Mains examination can check their qualifying status by searching their seven-digit roll number in the PDF. Read the full notice for the application-form update window, interview instructions and all other information.

A total of 13,343 candidates had qualified in the Prelims examination for the Mains. The serial numbers in the result PDF are not All India Ranks — the list is arranged by roll number.

Qualifying for the interview does not mean final selection. The final ranking is based on the marks obtained in the written papers counted for merit and the interview. Candidates’ mark sheets will be uploaded within 15 days after the final result, following the interviews, and will be available for 30 days.

Every candidate shortlisted for the interview must log in to upsconline.nic.in and verify, update wherever required, and finally submit the relevant application-form details between 11 November and 25 November 2026, until 6:00 PM. Even candidates who have nothing to change must log in, verify their information and complete the final submission. UPSC states that failure to submit the form will result in no interview e-Summon Letter being issued. Candidates who earlier declared their educational status as “appearing” must also update the required qualification details and upload proof of passing — failure to comply can lead to cancellation of candidature.

Qualified candidates will additionally have to complete the DoP&T online Attestation Form when it becomes available, from the commencement of the interviews, at cseplus.dopt.gov.in. This is a separate requirement from the UPSC application update.

  1. Visit the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.

  4. Press Ctrl + F (or Command + F on Mac) and enter your seven-digit roll number exactly as printed on your admit card.
  5. If your roll number appears in the list, you have qualified for the Personality Test, subject to eligibility verification.
  6. Save a copy of the PDF and read the first three pages carefully — they contain important instructions and deadlines.
