Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), a Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence and a Schedule ‘A’ Mini Ratna Category-I company, has released Advertisement No. 06/2026 for the recruitment of 40 executive posts — 31 on regular employment and 9 on fixed term employment. The posts range from Junior Manager to Chief General Manager across technical, finance, HR, legal, IT, safety, public relations and marketing disciplines. Online applications open on 23 October 2026 and the last date to apply online is 22 November 2026. The minimum qualification is a graduate degree or diploma with post-qualification experience, counted as on 30 September 2026. Read the notification for eligibility, selection process, pay scale and all other information. The fee is paid online through SBI e-pay. A separate application and a separate fee are required for each post applied. An application without the prescribed fee is liable for rejection, and a fee paid by an ineligible candidate is forfeited with no correspondence entertained. The notification prints two separate tables and no grand total. Adding both tables gives 40 vacancies — 31 regular and 9 fixed term. Some posts carry only reserved-category seats, so check your own row before applying. Reservation as per the notification, including backlog reserved vacancies in the regular posts.

Regular Employment Posts (31 vacancies)

Fixed Term Employment Posts (9 vacancies — 3 years, extendable up to 2 years)

Zone-wise and category-wise reservation follows the tables above as printed in the official notification. For the two CGM/GM posts, the notification prints a single shared vacancy cell, so the UR and OBC seats are not split post-wise — GSL may also offer a lower grade than applied for. There is no assurance of regular employment at the end of the fixed term engagement. All posts require post-qualification experience, counted as on 30 September 2026. Engineering posts require a full time regular B.E. / B.Tech. from a recognised university or AICTE-approved institution — lateral entry (3rd semester of 8, or 2nd year of 4) counts as equivalent, and 5-year integrated PG degrees are allowed for technical posts. Key experience requirements: Chief General Manager posts need 23 years (CGM (Finance) 23 years in finance; CGM (HR&A) 23 years with 10 in a senior HR/IR position; CGM/GM (Business Development) 23/20 years with 7 in a senior position; CGM/GM (Technical) 23/20 years in a major shipyard, dockyard or marine facility with 7 at a senior position). Additional General Manager posts need 16 years (AGM (Naval Architecture) 16 years; AGM (HR) 16 years; AGM (Finance) 16 years), with 13 years for DGM (Naval Architecture) and DGM (Ship Repairs, fixed term). Manager posts need 7 years (Manager (Safety) 7 years; Manager (PR) 7 years in public relations with excellent Hindi and English; Manager (Civil, fixed term) 7 years as project/site manager on a high-value infrastructure project with EPC contract experience). Deputy Manager posts need 4 years in the relevant field (Deputy Manager (Technical) 4 years in shipbuilding or ship repair; Deputy Manager (IT) 4 years; Deputy Manager (Legal) 4 years with Bar Council enrolment; Deputy Manager (Finance) 4 years in finance and accounts; Deputy Manager (Rajbhasha) 4 years). Junior Manager (Coordination, Delhi Office) needs 15 years in the Armed Forces with 5 years of liaison or coordination work, and Junior Manager (Safety) needs 15 years with the required safety qualification. Government or PSU candidates must have served in the immediate lower pay scale (2 years for CGM, GM, AGM, DGM, Manager and Deputy Manager grades). For E-7 and above posts, private sector candidates need their last two years in a company with an annual turnover of at least Rs 100 crore in a similar role. The date of result declaration counts as the date of acquiring the qualification. Relaxation for SC, ST, OBC(NCL), Ex-Servicemen, Ex-Agniveer and PwBD candidates follows Government of India rules, and internal candidates may get extra relaxation under GSL rules. The notification does not state a minimum age. For E-7 and above posts, the age limit can be relaxed by the extra years of relevant experience held over the notified experience, with 3 years of residual service required on the cut-off date. If your category has no seat in a post, you are treated as a General candidate with no relaxation. Pay is in the IDA 2017 scale with 3 percent annual increments. GSL also provides Performance Related Pay, accident insurance, a contributory medical insurance policy and welfare items as per company rules.
  1. Screening and shortlisting of applications (GSL may raise the minimum eligibility for shortlisting and decide its own screening criteria if applications are many)
  2. Written test — for Junior Manager posts only (85 marks)
  3. Document verification — for Junior Manager posts
  4. Interview — all posts (15 marks for Junior Manager; only shortlisted candidates are called for other posts)
For Junior Manager posts, candidates must score at least 50 percent in the written test (UR and EWS) or 45 percent (SC, ST, OBC(NCL), PwBD, where the post is reserved) to reach document verification and interview. The same qualifying marks apply to the interview. Final merit is the total of written test and interview marks, and ties go to the older candidate. For all other posts, selection is through interview only. Interview call letters go only to the registered email ID of shortlisted candidates. Outstation candidates called for interview get travel allowance on proof of journey — economy air fare for CGM and GM, AC II tier for Additional General Manager and below. Waitlisted rail tickets are not entitled to travel allowance. The written test applies only to the two Junior Manager posts. It carries 85 marks, and the interview carries 15 marks. Qualifying marks are 50 percent for UR/EWS and 45 percent for reserved categories (where the post is reserved). The detailed subject-wise pattern will be confirmed in the call letter or official notice. To be notified in the detailed notification. Keep a valid email ID and mobile number — shortlist and interview call letters come only by email. OBC(NCL) certificates must not be more than 6 months old at the time of joining.
