National Insurance Company Limited (NICL), a Government of India undertaking, has released the notification for the engagement of 200 Graduate Apprentices for 2026-27 under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) and the Apprentices Act, 1961. The online application window is open from 4 November 2026 to 18 November 2026 through the NATS portal. Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 15,000 during the 12-month training period. This is apprenticeship training, not permanent employment — NICL has no obligation to offer regular employment during or after the training. Read the notification for eligibility, selection process, stipend and all other information.

On the NATS portal, apply specifically against the National Insurance Company Limited opportunity (Establishment ID: EWBPNC096867). Creating a NATS student account alone is not sufficient. The official notification / result document link is not independently confirmed for this post; the links above go to the official portals. If a link here is wrong, report it — corrections are published openly.

NICL will communicate document verification arrangements to shortlisted candidates through their registered email addresses. Keep your email account active throughout the engagement process.

The official notification does not specify an application or examination fee. Complete the application through the official NATS portal and do not pay any unverified recruitment agent or intermediary.

Candidates can apply for apprenticeship engagement in only one state. NICL reserves the right to allot selected candidates to any district within their chosen state. The 200 seats are provisional and may increase or decrease as per NICL’s requirements. The notification gives state-wise totals only — no separate district-wise or category-wise numerical allocations are announced.

The Rs. 15,000 is an apprenticeship stipend, not a permanent employee salary. Apprentices are not entitled to other NICL employee allowances or benefits. The government component is credited directly to the apprentice’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Candidates must have completed a regular, full-time graduation degree in any discipline from a university or institution recognised by AICTE, DOTE or UGC, and must have passed the qualifying examination and possessed the degree certificate by 1 April 2026. Candidates must have a 100% complete NATS profile.

The notification specifically excludes: candidates holding a postgraduate degree or a completed integrated postgraduate qualification; candidates who have previously undergone apprenticeship training, are currently undergoing it, or whose previous apprenticeship was terminated midway; candidates with one year or more of work experience in a government, public-sector or private organisation as on 1 April 2026; and candidates without a fully completed NATS profile. Distance-learning or part-time degrees do not meet the regular, full-time condition.

  1. NATS registration — register and complete the NATS student profile
  2. Online application against the NICL advertised vacancy
  3. Merit-based shortlisting by the Board of Practical Training (Eastern Region), using graduation percentage marks
  4. Email intimation to shortlisted candidates
  5. Physical document verification at the designated NICL office, with original certificates and self-attested copies
  6. Final engagement, subject to eligibility verification, state-wise seat availability and approval of the apprenticeship contract in NATS

No separate written examination or interview is prescribed in the advertisement. Graduation percentage is calculated up to two decimal places; where the university awards CGPA, OGPA or GPA, convert it using the university’s official formula. If two or more candidates obtain the same percentage, the older candidate receives preference.

To be notified in the detailed notification — no written examination is prescribed for this apprenticeship engagement; shortlisting is based on graduation marks, followed by document verification.

Apprentices are entitled to one day of leave for each month of training, credited at the beginning of the following month and subject to prior approval; a maximum of four days of leave may be taken at one time, and unused accumulated leave expires when the contract ends.

  1. Register on the NATS portal at nats.education.gov.in and complete your student profile to 100%.
  2. Search for the National Insurance Company Limited opportunity (Establishment ID: EWBPNC096867).
  3. Read the full notification to check your state, eligibility and age limit.
  4. Select only one state and apply against the NICL advertised vacancy.
  5. Enter your graduation percentage in the prescribed NATS profile field — applications without the percentage information will not be considered.
